PTA

The PTA Elves have been busy putting together craft bags for all the classes to enjoy throughout the last week of term. These were delivered today to all the classrooms by a couple of dressed up Christmas trees & elves who had a sing song with the children.

The Hobgoblin Theatre Company visited Avenue this week to perform their 'Greatest Fairy Tale Ever told!' The pupils and staff were captivated. Events like these are able to happen because of fundraising by the PTA.

Welcome to the PTA section!

What is the PTA?

The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) and all its helpers are a group of volunteers who give their time to organise fundraising events for the School.  It's all about creating magical, fun moments that the children and their families will enjoy and remember.  Our events range from the smaller ones, such as a cake sale or drawing competition, to larger events such as a school disco, Christmas or Summer Fair.  We even have some fun parent only events such as Quiz Night or Bollywood Evening. Whatever the event, witnessing and being part of the enjoyment had by the children and parents at the school, inspires us to get involved in the PTA. The funds that are raised are extremely important to the school and go directly towards equipment and resources to provide an environment that motivates our children to learn and grow.

As a parent/carer we are all naturally a member of the PTA.  Some people are able to give a little more time and commitment than others, but regardless of how much time you can give, every contribution is valued towards making our events a success.

What could you do?

There are lots of way you can get involved:

  • Spread the word about the PTA events.
  • Join the committee and help organise some of the events.
  • Give us your fundraising ideas.
  • Volunteer to help out at events.
  • Become a Class Representative.
  • Some people contribute by giving raffle prizes or items for us to use to raise funds and some have certain skills that really come in handy from time to time.
  • Join the Avenue Primary Academy PTA Facebook Group (private to parents and carers who have children at the school)).  You will need to request to join.

We use this group to communicate with parents and carers and to keep them up to date with what is going on at the school through the PTA.

Through this group you can also find useful links to other resources such as our year group Facebook pages and Whatsapp groups.  There are also tips on simple ways to make money for the school. For example, whenever you shop online via: Amazon Smile, Easy fundraising and school resource related websites such as Sitkins the school can benefit.

These Facebook and Whatsapp Groups are run purely by the PTA Team and you can post questions or message us directly, any time.  Either the PTA or another parent will come back to you with answers as often as we can.  It’s a great way to be part of the school community.

The PTA is only a success because we all work together.

Thank you for your support.
